Metal Detector/Security Question (Kind of a strange one)

Okay guys, this may be kind of a strange question, but here it goes...

I wear a wig and plan to bobby pin and clip the thing to death so that I can actually enjoy some of the crazier rides while I'm at the park (along with wearing a hair band). I already knew I'd have to avoid the hundreds of bobby pins and metal clips when we go to the airport, but then I got to thinking...am I going to have to wait to pin my hair until after I enter the park as well due to the metal detectors at the entrances of the parks?

When we cruised a few weeks ago the security scanners picked up the bobby pins I had in my pocket so I figured if I had a few dozen in my head they would definitely be picked up by the scanners at the parks.

Is this actually going to be a huge issue for the employees? Am I really going to have to wait until I enter to put a hundred bobby pins and two dozen clips in to secure my wig? It just seems like it would be a hassle to have to do it once I get there, so I'm hoping somebody can ease my mind and tell me it shouldn't be an issue.

My guess would be you will need to explain to them if you are randomly checked and they will use the wand to verify. Just from experience of what I see at airport security...I assume Disney will operate in the same manner but I am not 100% for sure on it.

You should toss your wig at the pause at the top of EE and lets' all see how long it stays there with the hair bands!!!

Wouldn't they do the same thing they do for metal plates and rods and just have them wand your head. ( I really don't know how to say that without it sounding a little funny. Sorry. :))

Hehe, I was kind of hoping that was all they would do. I wasn't sure if they would ask me to take off the wig though. I think that would kind of make me feel uneasy if they asked, so if anyone thought they would even think of asking me to remove it at all I wasn't going to chance pinning my wig before entering the park.

I'm hoping you're right, that they would just wand my head, LOL.

I just can't see them asking you to remove your wig. TSA, yes . Disney, nah.

Yeah I already knew TSA had no fear of asking so I knew I wouldn't even think of chancing it with them, but I'm glad to hear that Disney wouldn't think of asking. Phew! I feel better about going in head full of metal already, hehe. It is about a 20 minute process so I'm glad I won't be wasting that time in the bathroom at the parks once we arrive and that I can just take care of it in the morning in our room before we head out.
