Overall, it was a major downgrade to the store. It's basically a bare walls and roof store. This is the whole shop overall (the one good thing: they did add more space for guests exiting SGE).

And of course, little traces of Stitch:

And I was really upset they took out that cool window display and replaced it with:

Doesn't look like they changed much at all. As I suspected, it was just to incorporate some Stitch theme to the store and tie it into the attraction. A new paint job, a new ceiling (cute touch with the Stitch feet and pushed up tile...but what's with the black octagon outline in the center?), Galactic Federation-themed walls and looks like a new (tile?) floor.

Those sorry S.O.B's couldn't have left that up there? God forbid they give me a reason to actually walk in the store again. What's so wrong with leaving another nice little detail for the fans? I'm sorry, but I just don't get it.

And yes I am making way too big of a deal out of this :lol:
But I can't help it. I thought for sure that they were going to keep that up there and this upsets me.

Thanks for the update though. Now I won't have to worry about visiting the Merchant anymore. And I would have been REALLY upset if I had looked forward to seeing that sign all trip and I would walk in there to find it replaced :lol:

I know it doesn't look like much, but as soon as I walked in there, I could really tell that it was not the same atmoshphere that it once was. Even behind the registers where they had merchandise displays and pictures are bare walls now.

I guess I was kinda expecting this rehab to come out like the Star Trader rehab.

I honestly detested this store previously, it sold the most tackiest stuff around.

Well when AE opened up, it had pretty much wall to wall AE merchandise. And even during the whole "Hottie" crap phase, it was still the only place where you could get AE stuff, so it was always a special spot for me.

And we are talking about the XS-Tech signs that were up above the merchandise and would sometimes make noises "from the show". It would always scare people looking at the shirts and hats. It was hillarious.

I was able to see this store today. With nothing but a pare painted wall behind the cash registers, it sticks out like a sore thumb. I'd wouldn't be surprised if they are still adding things to it.
