Merchandise question

I am not sure where else to post this since I don't see an appropriate spot but I have a question about what to do with a problem that I have with a Vera Disney bag. I purchased it about 1.5 years ago and I have used it for a total of maybe 6-8 of those months (I rotate my bags a lot). Anyways...I own many Vera bags and have never had a problem with them but my Disney Vera bag is wearing down at the handle so bad that the foam padding is showing through. I contacted the Disney store online and they told me I needed to contact the World of Disney Store (which is closed for calls right now). I am wondering if anyone has ever had problems with Vera bags or any other merchandise before that they purchased in Disney and had to handle an exchange/return/or discuss a problem like this with cast members before? If so, how was it handled? I live in New York so bringing the item in to be looked at is not an option right now but I will be down there in November.

I would bring it down with a receipt if you can. I had a similar issue with a purse (not a Vera) and a manager approved an exchange. For me, though, it was only 6 months after the purchase date. But worth asking a manager about.

We had some sizing issues with some items my mother in law brought back for the kids in March. We tried to return at the Disney Store in PA, but they were not returnable there, as they were park only items. So we called Disney (the number that is on the receipt), and they gave us an address to mail the items back to. Then we got a merchandise credit in the mail a little while later, for the price of the returns.

Perhaps they've heard of the problem before, and would let you mail it in for an exchange. I would call Disney and explain the situation. If WoD isn't taking calls, just call the WDW-INFO line and they can probably direct you to someone. Or maybe you could contact Vera Bradley, since they manufactured it, and see what their policy is. Good luck, I hope they're able to resolve this for you!

I'd bought one of the Dooney & Bourke bags and a similar thing happened, some of the leather trim was unwrapping. I'd only had it for about two months (with minimal use, I'm a very forgetful person and often leave my bags places so I only carry it while I'm going out) when this started to happen. I called and they gave me the address too so I could mail it back. Definitely try the number that's on the receipts. If not, like @DizneyPryncess said, call the WDW-INFO line. I'm sure someone there would be more than able to direct you to the right place.

I did speak with Vera Bradley and they said Disney holds all rights to their bags and they do not handle any Disney Vera merchandise which I figured was going to be the case since Vera does not even sell the Disney stuff on their own site.

That's good to know. I have a Vera Disney bag too, and I always wondered why Vera didn't sell the things in their stores. That's frustrating for you though. You can't be the first one to have this problem, I hope they're able to exchange it out for you.
