Menu ideas for the B&TB table service:

I looked around and I truly hope there is not a thread already, but what do you think they should serve at the upcoming restaurant? And at the counter service Gaston's?

Should it be French? A steakplace? Ideas for the children's menu which is very important? American? A mix of styles? What do you think?

A part of me wants to respect Les Chefs, Bistro, and the pastry shop in France and even not steal Ratatouille's thunder so I have to think about this myself and then post.

Also, the decline in food quality in certain areas of WDW has to be taken into account and our expectations as well. I am keeping them high anyway.

I am also going to double check what is on the Cinderella menu and guess that they don't want to exactly duplicate that either.

Oh, and how about Gaston's? Would they go the burger and fry route only or something else? What do you think they should or might have and what would you like to see?

I was hoping for some wild game at Gaston's! A little venison and elk. Maybe some buffalo burgers. Very lean and healthier than beef.

As far at the BOGR, I just want to see lots of crazy deserts like in the movie sequence!!:D

I would hope that it all at least has some sort of French Theme. I REALLY hope for quality, not dumbed down chow for the minions.

BntB restaurant could be a clever take on French Provincial cooking with some simple entrees' for the less adventurous (not that French is that adventurous to begin with). Great poultry and beef dishes with fresh veggies and traditional sauces!!! Mmmmmmm.

I love the idea about the Buffalo Burgers! Some of my favorite meats. Wouldn't it also be great to have a real style French Boulangerie (bakery) in the village with excellent baguette sandwiches to take to the Fantasy Forest for a picnic?

I was thinking the same thing about the wild game.

I am thinking some Grape Stuff (it's delicious) . Maybe even some Cheese Souffle. If neither of those two work, how about some Hot Hors D'oeuvres?

I watched Beauty and the Beast today with my daughter. I wonder if the rolling spreads will in some way be represented?

Will they roll on by the table with big assortments of appetizers and deserts for you to chose from? That would be fun.

I love that idea. I'm all about buffalo burgers.

I really want them to go into a lot of detail on the BOGR. Like I want the dishes to have the same pattern and color scheme as in the movie. Things like that will really make the experience complete, I think. I do not think you can have BOGR serve anything but true French food like what is described in the song and much more. I don't think the typical fare will suffice.

I said it mine apparently said grape stuff and not grey stuff. lol. I had no idea.

In the movie they very clearly say grey stuff, but we just recently saw the tour of the broadway show and I could swear that in it they said grape stuff! It kind of tickled me at the time!

Hey wait- isn't Cogsworth supposed to be at the restaurant? I guess if has his way they will be feeding us all bread crusts!

Well, I think as a kid it just made sense. lol. Why would grey stuff be delicious?

I remember thinking that as a kid... what kind of frey stuff would be delicious? It looks like dirty sink water! That particular part of the scene did not make me excited to try French cuisine in my 3rd grade French class!

Posted this thread and then took off and contributed er, nothing.

Still trying to brainstorm what I would like to see and reconcile it with what they may be likely to do.

2 things I guess I could note.

Perhaps not in Crystal or somewhere else I can't think of for the moment, but I don't think there is a huge fish, seafood, shellfish presence in MK.

So, perhaps B&TB won't go that route.

For dinner at Cinderella, it looks like it is heavy on the meat. I think I saw one fish option and perhaps a pasta or something vegetarian.

And despite what they do, naturally, they will accomodate different eaters.

This is hard. MK sit-downs don't get as vast and as large in their offerings as Epcot table service or even DHS.

Will keep musing and then return.:brick:

For the Be Our Guest by day I have absolutely no idea, but if I had to guess I would say soups, salads, and gourmet sandwiches. For the table service by night I would say a glorified version of the daily menu but adding some meats like veal, steak, along with a fresh fish of the day, not to mention pasta and great french inspired desserts. For Gaston's Tavern I'm thinking Turkey legs like in Hollywood Studios. Since it is Gaston's I have a feeling that the portions will be very large and hearty. This is all just my opinion though, wouldn't mind it being the truth though, lol.
