That's awful. People suck.
Are you 100% sure you didn't lose the camera? Just in case, you should check with Disney Lost & Found. They collect everything they find and send it to one location. Someone here will have the number.
Ok, I have first hand experience with this...not once...TWICE over several trips.
The best thing to do (for future reference) is to go to City Hall the night of loss and file a lost and found report.
Then, check the next day.
ALWAYS have serial numbers for your electronics handy (put it somewhere like an email account that you can get to from any computer with internet) when you travel.
Use this to inquire with lost and found.
Both times, I got my cameras back. Once the same day (it was at Guest Relations / Main Gate at Typhoon) once two days later (at central Lost and Found which is over near TTC).
If they were truly stolen, though, odds are you'll never see them again. This is why I'd recommend looking at Wifi options for cameras. They are common now, especially with mid level DSLRs and Point and Clicks. They can connect and "auto backup" your pictures to the cloud as you go.
There are also portable backup devices that you can purchase for anywhere from 80 to $200 that allow you to back up on the fly. I, personally, back up daily to an external drive and a laptop...
That sucks. I would keep checking every few days, because if you didn't do it same day, then it's probably been sent to a central collections point, and that makes finding it a LOT harder ("Hey, I lost a Go Pro Black") (Ok, which one of the 3000 we have?)...
In addition, I would go ahead and find those serials and file a police report with Orange County Sheriffs so local pawn shops can be on the look out (believe it or not, criminals ARE that stupid). It sounds, based one the limited things you've shared, that it was in fact theft.
Good luck.
