Hi

Thus was my first visit St memorial weekend. It www the day after the 24 hour opening at MK and have never seen the parks this busy. MK closed during the Saturday ad reached capacity as did Hollywood Studios. I was at MK in the evening as it was open to 3am. Tried to leave after wishes and the crowds were unbelievable. You couldn't get to any of the transportation at all and we ended up walking to contemporary to then get bud to DD and connect. Was anyone else at MK this evening and have similar experience?

I really do not see anywhere that they used this forum as a source. In fact it says that Disney confirmed that they sent out surveys to AP passholders....

"The company sent out a survey asking questions about whether guests would pay more for peak days
Visitors to Disneyland and Disney World may find themselves paying more for entry to the parks on peak days during the summer, spring break and Christmas time.

Walt Disney Co. sent out surveys to annual pass holders asking questions that suggest it is considering this change, gauging how they would react to a tiered pricing system, the L.A.Times reports. In Anaheim, Calif.’s Disneyland, a day pass currently costs $99 for those aged 10 and up; under the hypothetical new system, that price would stay the same for off-peak days, but most other, regular days would cost $105, while peak days would cost $115. In Disney World, the Orlando Sentinel reports, the current rate of $105 for ages 10 and up for the Magic Kingdom might remain an option while the most expensive days might cost $125.

The company told both papers that it frequently polls its customers on a wide range of topics, giving little weight to this particular survey."

The new pricing rumor might address your concerns about crowds on holidays. I have said before that increasing pricess would be a good thing because they refuse to expand in a meaningful way and the parks are simply too crowded.

I would pay $225/day at Christmas if the crowd level reduced by 40% or so.

and then pay extra for MVMCP???? Just curious what that $225 encompasses in your mind because you just know they will not stop milking that cash cow.

They have to increase prices or expand. I'd rather them expand, but Iger has utterly failed in that department. Unfortunately, increasing prices is a faster fix, so they implement that. The crowd levels are increasing, which is good for Disney, but there is a point for every guest that crowds will ruin the experience. I'm already there so I avoid all crowded times.

$225 was just a number I came up with, essentially double the one day ticket today. It would only be park admission buT I am for increasing prices at hotels too. The crowds simply have to come down and since Disney won't leave profits oh the table, I'm willing to pay the difference.

So would you have them just automatically roll MVMCP into the park admission then if they reduced the capacity by 40%? I am just curious what your thoughts are in that regard. Not being argumentative (tone is so hard to set with a keyboard) but I am truly interested in where the threshold lies. Would you pay more to get in and and then more again to stay in for the party or would you think that the increased price should cover it?

No, I'd pay extra for the party as well. Exclusive events should be more exclusive. Currently, they sell too many tickets for "special" events, making them less special. I've been to both the Halloween and Christmas parties multiple times and I feel the execution is less than perfect.

I'm sure if the parks were closed, then some people probably experienced it.

We were there in 2000 and MK was at capacity so we headed to the Studios but they closed before we got there so we ended up at Epcot.

I can't imagine the parks being completely closed.... I assume to anyone not staying on WDW property? It's so very crowded anyway lately all of the time.

I wonder at what capacity and closing category they were in on that weekend and the 24 hour event. WDWMagic usually posts it, but I didn't see it this time, and I missed the live video stream.:(
