I have seen them advertised on Ebay. Are they a scam, or a good way to budget and save some money?

Thanks

I think you are talking about conenction vouchers? That is a "club" that you play for 80$ to join and then you get discounts at many chain restants (Red Lobster, olive garden ect...) There is a 11 meal voucher you can get. If you do it right you can get more then 11$ for food out of it, but most of the time it comes out to around that.

Sometimes meal tickets are passed out for conventions, as a bonus for visiting DVC or other events like that.

AL has a meal ticket you can buy for 11$, it comes with counter service meal, drink, a extra drink (bottled water or pop) and either pop corn or ice cream from a stand in the park. Those seem to be a good deal. Anyone can buy it at the park.

If it is worth it, is up to you. Don't pay more then 11 or 12 dollars for it or it isn't worth it (include S&H) For large families or groups it might be worth it. Also is you wanted to give teens to get food, but not given them cash. I havn'e bothered with them, but I wouldn't pass up free or really cheap ones (under 5$)

There used to be a link explaing them at www.disboards.com

There are three types of vouchers:

Breakfast: good for any sitdown breakfast including the character meals(not Swan/Dolphin) and these are 17.75

quick&casual: these are good for almost all the counter service restaurants at the parks(except some carts) and many of the food courts in resorts. Good for one entree, side, drink, dessert for 11.50

Kingdom luncheon: good for sit-down restaurants in parks/resorts but only for lunch. They are 27.75 (higher now I think).

We have used the breakfast and q&c and love them. Nice to have some meals pre-paid. CM know about them and you don't have any problems using them. They also include tax and gratuity so they are good deal in that respect.

We were connections members (yearly membership was $79.00)and always had great service from them; although others have had issues. If you join for a trial $1/one month, make sure you cancel on time or they will charge you for the year. You can buy up to 40 of each kind of voucher per year. they increased the yearly fee significantly($139/yr) so I did not rejoin. They also had great discounts on park passes at IOA, US and WDW along with Blockbuster, TOYRUS and other restaurants so we have gotten our $79! Hope this helps. We have seen people selling these vouchers for WAY over value at e-bay..I don't recommend that. Floridaorlandotickets.com and Hotwire savings now sells these at a higher price than connections but they are the same vouchers. There is no fee with Floridaornadotickets.com and Hotwire has a $1 trial monthly membership. WE DO LOVE HAVING THESE AND HAVE 6 BREAKFAST AND 12 Q& C TO USE FOR OUR 12/28-1/02 TRIP.

Connears, thanks for such a detailed explaintion of the connections vouchers. I onced ended up with a membership ( I did not ask for) when they gave me a "free trial" when I bought some other over the phone T.V. deal. When I later got a 79$ charge to my credit card and I had never aproved it, I fliped. I called them and they took it off, but after that I had a bad taste about it.

I wonder if it would be worth it to get a trail membership (1$) and get a few then cancel before the 1st month was up.

DisneyPhD,
We really enjoyed the program and never had any problems. I definitley got my $79 worth. You can join for the $1 trial month, but be sure you cancel on time. If you just want the meal vouchers, try floridaorlandotickets.com. They are more expensive, but less hassle. Either way enjoy!
