Someone once told me about a meal plan.. that you can pay a set amount and you get so many meals a day?? I have never heard of this & would like to try it if it's a $$ saver.

Anyone know what this is? Is it worth it?

Yes, Disney has a Dining Plan. You pay $38 a day (correct me if Im wrong everyone) and it allows you one tables service meal, including non-alcoholic drink, one appetizer, one entree and one dessert...one counter service meal including a beverage, entree and dessert, and one snack, i.e. drink, popcorn, ice cream, etc. Everything included tax and tip. My DH and I have found this to be a very good plan, as we like to eat at the table service restaurant and it saves us a ton.

You can find more info on www.allearsnet.com under Dining.

TikiBeckie is correct. Here's some really great info on the plan: http://www.allears.net/pl/packages07a.htm

I'm using the plan for the first time this summer and, so far, I've been so impressed with what I've been able to book. On previous trips, I've fretted over the food budget and that's been a real pain (I have a teen son who likes to live in the fridge.).

For this upcoming trip, I've booked table-service meals at Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Marrakesh, the Plaza, Rose & Crown and some character meals. We definitely will be eating better on this trip, without all the worry about the budget, and I'm really pleased.

We did the Disney Dining Plan for the first time last year and will always get it in future. We could eat each day for a bit less money, but we'd never get the quality meals we get on DDP. For example, 4 of us had a late lunch at LeCellier during our last visit. The meal came to $140. That one meal equalled the cost of our DDP for the day. We each still got a counter service meal at about 7pm and had a snack earlier that day. It allows us to eat well every day. We think the cost is well worth it. Note that the cost of DDP does include gratuity too (and the servers do get their gratuity).

If you do a forums search for 'Disney Dining Plan' you will most likely find several threads on this topic.
