MDE/Magic Band/Room Assignments question

We have kind of an odd situation and am looking for advice on the best way to handle it.

We have a party of 8 planning together, and have split into two separate rooms. Due to various issues we now have to switch who is in what room and travel dates. We also have the rooms for a different number of nights. So room A is 12/11-12/18. Room B is 12/12-12/17.

Because of the changes, two people that were supposed to be in room A are now in room B, and the two people that were in room B will now be in room A. I hope that makes sense.

The problem is that one of the people who needs to switch is the lead guest for Room B. We rented through DVC Rental Store and I've already talked to them, and there's no way to change the lead guest on a reservation. So we are going to end up with one person as the lead guest on a room they are not staying in. This person will be arriving one day before it shows them checking in in the system. Thinking through it, I think the only issues will be her not being able to use her magic band or phone to unlock the door, and possibly magical express. My understanding is that different people in the same room can link different credit cards to their magic band for using it for payment.

That brings me to my question. What is the best way to handle this? I cannot link her MDE account to more than one reservation. So with the reservations staying the way they are, how do I make this as easy as possible?

-Create a dummy MDE account for her and add that person to Room A and get her a separate Magic Band?
-Have her switch Magic Bands with one of the guests actually staying in Room B and just remember that they're swapped while making plans all week? Maybe we could change their nicknames in the app after check in?
-Suck it up and just have her open the door with a room key and understand Magical Express won't be seamless but they'll still get her there?
-Something else I'm not seeing?

The lead guest on the reservation can be changed, but the DVC owner that made the reservation must contact DVC to do so. They can do that by chat (when available), phone or email (contact us feature on member website). That's the only name on a reservation that the owner can't change online themselves.

I am sure you guys are correct about that (and I pushed back a little when I got that answer), but the policy from the service we used is that the lead guest cannot be changed. It's in the contract we signed so I'm not going to die on that hill.

This is likely the broker’s policy to stop the owner having to make changes.

I don’t think this is a major problem in practice.
Get the lead person to do online check-in. They will then hopefully get the room ready text / email.
Or any adult on the reservation can check in in person.
You can also ask at the front desk for key cards for the guests on the “wrong” reservation.
The linking of credit cards will also need to be done in person.

Thank you. I hope you're right. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something that would be a big problem once we got there. None of us have been since 2007 so this part is all new to us!
