May trip planning

Greetings and Salutations all!

Some friends and I are going to be going to Disneyworld in mid-May '04.

We are planning on staying at the All-Star Movies. Last time we were there (in June '00) we stayed in the Buzz Lightyear building... is that a preferred building now?

We'll be taking my friends 12 year old step son with us... do you think he'd be okay to wander the parks alone if he wants to??? Is 12 old enough?

Weather in mid-May... I'm assuming it's hot (I'm Canadian... I'm sure it'll be hotter down there than it is up here) but what about the rain? Does it rain a lot in mid-May?

Also park hours... do any of the parks stay open late in May? I can't remember the park hours in early June (it was 4 years ago, after all)

We're debating between going to Sea World and/or Universal... I went to both last time, but we just want to cut it down to one of these parks... any advice? I could do with either one...

I'm going to Disneyworld in 6 months 2 days!!!

I think the friend could wander, as long as he knows where everything is and is familiar with the wdw layout.

The weather is nice, and the Star Wars weekends should be taking place in May. I went in May of this year and the weather was not too hot. 70's & 80's.

You should go to Universal, since the new Mummy attraction should be open by then.

I think some of the parks were open until 9 PM, but I don't think there were any open later than that.
