While I know the stats are slim to zero, I would love it if there would be a May marathon for those of us who like to go after Easter but before school lets out.

Anyone know if there are any plans for new marathons for Disneyworld?

I know Ironman 70.3 Florida is held partially on Disney property and that was was typiclally the 2nd or 3rd weekend in May. For 2012, it was moved to Haines City (wherever that is - somewhere at a new Legoland park?). Maybe this clears the way for a May race possibility, but I think the heat will be an issue and usually May marks the end of the spring marathon season.

I would love to have a race devolped around the Christmas holiday season! With DD starting to college this fall, our annual late Sept early Oct visits are over with for a while. We are going this year the day that finals are over.......Unfortunately, I can't justify a trip to Disney for racing without it coinciding with our family vacation!

That's pretty doubtful with Wine and Dine in November now and the Marathon weekend in January, and Princess Weekend in February.

A full marathon? I doubt it. The last few years the registrations for January seem to be sitting around for way to long. Another half? Possibly. Lots of the halfs have been selling out really fast. DLR and Tot (not a half but still) were what, within 2-3 weeks? And Princess/Tinkerbell usually do pretty good as well. I think the key thing for them at this point is a solid theme. They have enough races throughout the year to attract most people, but I think they are seeing that a solid theme will make/break a race.

Solid rumors? Nope. Even hints of anything? Nope. Personally I think they should concentrate on keeping what they have strong. You can only do so many races on the same course before it starts to get boring.

Agreed! I think it's reached the point where there may already be too many endurance events and it seems like everybody wants Disney to set up a new race to cater to their own particular distance and time of year preferences. The Marathon Weekend is their biggest event and it is typically within 2 weeks of Christmas. The past few years all holiday decorations were still up for the race weekend & this isn't good enough?
