Hi, Mousketeers! Here's another co-post from tk421-sw and thimblekisses. We nipped up to MK yeterday afternoon, May 7th. Here is a brief update of what we saw!
As we passed the entrance to MGM, we noticed the new panel for Lights, Motors, Action! Does anyone remember what picture used to be in this panel? I can't recall, now that I see this one. It's the left-most panel.

One of the monorails is under rehab. During this time, they tell guests that they have to take the ferry into MK, and that the monorail is only for guests leaving the MK. Here's a little secret: The monorail going to the resorts STILL GOES TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM. So yes, you can still ride it, but they just won't tell you that so there isn't a mass backup. So we took the monorail!

pic2734pm.jpg

Ugh! Talk about lack of monorail etiquette. See the family below. See husband, see wife, see two small boys. The man's face has been blurred, because we believe him to be a CM, since he got out and talked on the phone at the control podium when we stopped at the Polynesian. They got in the monorail and the kids played limbo and swung under the center support bar. Then, the father gave them permission to leap over the bench to the other side of the monorail car) narrowly missing two nice ladies, and ran and leaped up to the back of the bench. They rode the rest of the way casually this way, leaning up against the wall. Notice how both parents think this is just fine. Animals, I tell you, animals. Even more annoying than that, there is new Stitch audio on the monorails. He says more, something to the effect of "Are we there yet? When will we be there? When? When? When? When? Now? Are we there yet?" etc. AND every time Stitch said anything, this anonymous man in white hat repeated it, loudly, SEVERAL TIMES! Good grief! We were beginning to wish we had taken the ferry, after all.

Here is the stage where America's funniest videos will be filmed later this week.

As you can see, the episode will be aired May 13th.

Okay. I have my questions about this. Last week at Grad Nite, one of the lost boys in Peter Pan's Flight had fallen over backwards somehow, so we tried to take a picture in time to see if he had been fixed. Well, he had, but then we noticed something else. What the heck is up with this NOOSE? What is going on here? And why is that one facing the other way with a big ominous shadow? I honestly never noticed this before. Can anyone explain that to me? What is this, Neverland Lord of the Flies?
I'm VERY familiar with several different versions of Peter Pan (hence the thimblekisses) but I don't remember anything about a noose, ever. Thoughts?

More to come, stay tuned!

I think the entrance for their hideout was in the Hangman's Tree.....I do know that the noose has been part of the show scene.

Edit: http://disneyexperience.com/downloads/wallpapers/neverland_1024.JPG here at the Disneyexperience they have a wallpaper with the map of Neverland and it is the hangmans tree

Here are Jeff and Michael on Peter Pan, but try your hardest to ignore them for a moment, and look at the back wall. Whoa! What horrible condition it's in! Good thing a rehab is coming soon - this poor favorite badly needs it.

I'm not sure what you call these little things but I know they're free and they come from EPCOT, I believe in Innoventions. Anyhow, this little green and yellow interloper somehow made his way into the exit ramp of Space Mountain. Here he is, hanging out with a larger robot buddy.
pic2948xe.jpg

Ryland said someone was discussing the projection above Walt Disney's City of Tomorrow. It's blurry, but here it is. I honestly never noticed it before we took this picture.
pic3035ah.jpg

pic3047rw.jpg

Back in Town Square, in front of the firehouse, there was a random barricade up, presumably from some patching that seems to have taken place on the trolley tracks. Pretty sloppy looking, isn't it?
pic3208hd.jpg

Here on Space Mountain exit ramp, the cover was off of this flourescent light. Rather unsightly, especially with this brown water-damage type of goop in the lower right corner.
pic2984hn.jpg

Hahahaha, this is my personal favorite. I'm sure this has been done, but this man was PERFECTLY positioned in front of this recycling can to look like he's wearing Mickey ears! So this man (in the stroller??? just hanging out?) had no idea I took his picture, but it was too perfect to resist.
pic3029kt.jpg

This ramp and these random ferns outside the Emporium are there to disguise the ton of cables that are running along the sidewalk to the AFV stage.
pic3225fn.jpg

This looooong ramp (and Ryland's TAAAALLL shadow) are covering the rest of the cables. Tricky.
pic3237ns.jpg

Please ignore my face. Look to the red circle: I got a HCOE Gold medallion/pin and put it on my lanyard. It's pretty cool, it lit up unexpectedly. I'm still figuring out exactly how that works. I've never had one of these before! They are much lighter than you'd expect them to be for the size. Hooray!

Just a few more to come!

Oh my gosh!!!! I am SUCH a bad Pan! I can't believe that I didn't know that. I played Peter Pan once, and I am ashamed that I didn't realize that. Sad, sad, sad!

Thanks!

The only thing I can think of is that this name was created by Disney for their adaptation of the story - I'll do more research. Then again, maybe I'm delusional.

The window display outside of the Chapeu has changed from black Mickey hats to the HCOE Gold Mickey Ears. I am always curious as to whose names those are on those hats.
pic3271hu.jpg

Now this man knows how to do things. I assure you that he was completely unconscious, because I walked right up to him to snap this picture. I suppose he was waiting for Spectromagic to begin, but this was a full two hours before it began. The tink balloon is an especially nice touch.
pic3304lo.jpg

Near Aladdin's Magic Carpets in Adventureland, things need some serious repair. The middle set is all ready to drop its right spear right on someone's head. Heads up when you walk over there!
pic3311vy.jpg

I will now draw your attention to the spears all the way to the right. The bottom of the spear handle is broken off and jagged. Don't touch! Ouch! Sharp!
pic3328vk.jpg

A closer look, ouch! Splinters!
pic3338ws.jpg

As if that weren't bad enough, someone stashed this garbage can and bottle of cleaning solution next to these forgotten spears and behind this palm tree. Tsk tsk.
pic3345vx.jpg

But in good news, approaching the Tomorrowland Noodle Station, you can gaze longingly at their lovely new sign. Look at it! How dazzling!
pic3411uy.jpg

This is Noodle Stations other new wall art. I feel like I should be able to see something special if I gaze into this giant purple orb. . .Maybe I will!
pic3422hy.jpg

Unfortunately while we were at the Noodle Station, a lady lost her little boy - Thomas - I hope she found him!

That's all for now. Hopefully our next photo post will include Star Wars Weekends, hooray!

"See you real soon!"

The guy laying on his back with his feet in the stroller is sure going to have a stiff soar back when he gets up :D Thanks for another great update and commentary.

Sad as it may be, this is one of the reasons why flash photography is not allowed inside most attractions. If the lights were turned on in a lot of them I think we'd all be a little horrified. It's a dark ride and therefore should only be judged in the dark the way the imagineers intended.

Great update, and cool pictures as usual.

I didn't see so much of MK saturday, because I spent to much time chasing down Lucky. So thanks for showing me what I missed.

I never would have noticed them either.

But then again, I don't visit the parks searching for bad show.

Neither do we, but truly bad show does stand out a bit. We noticed the spears and such by chance as we enjoyed an orange-swirl confection, but the barricade in the middle of the trolley tracks begged to be excused.
