So he's kind of back the way he was pre-2009 if you like. It may be at risk of changing back however, I always got the impression that silly head start he had over the spiel was put there to make it complete before the stretching room opened to avoid people lingering and watching it. So if it does cause that, it may go back - but hopefully not!
So for now, at least you know when the doors open if there's no spiel playing you haven't missed it - my main gripe before was even though Cast Members most of the time got the door open before the spiel, the portrait could have been anywhere between Stage 1 and 3 as even the first person entered (and gave Cast Members some unfair beratings from fans at times), but it seems someone has realised it was an unreliable presentation and fixed it, even if it took well over a decade!
(This has been done very recently as I saw a video only last week where it was changing before the spiel began)
