Sadly, Mary Blair died in 1978. She did concept art work for several animated features. She made the Disneyland Tile Mural for It's a Small World, which was covered over in the late 80's :( and the tile artwork in the CR at WDW was designed by her too. I heard somewhere that she died of complications from prolonged alcoholism. Maggie

Actually, for accuracy's sake, she created the Disneyland tile murals (there were two) for the late '60s remodel of Tomorrowland. One of them was changed when Star Tours was being built around 1986. The other survived up until late 1996 when Tomorrowland '98 was being constructed. Actually I think this one might still be there, as I had heard they only covered it as you mentioned. The mural that replaced it was also replaced not too long ago for the arrival of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. Fortunately, some of her work still survives in the Parks in the form of It's a Small World.
