Marvel's Avengers - Thor question

The first Thor movie is on FX for the 100th time. At the end they destroy the rainbow bridge, cutting off the realms. How does Thor return to Earth in The Avengers? (I know, I could have asked this question two years ago.) I've seen the other Avenger character movies, but not religiously. Am I missing something?

@Dafid Duck Loki mentions something to the effect of "father had to expend a lot of energy or pull a lot of strings to get you here" during the the Avengers. It is repaired by the time Thor 2 comes out?
It is not repaired. Part of the plot is the means by which Loki traveled across realms in The Avengers.

It IS reapaired, they use the Loki secret passage because to get out using the Rainbow Bridge they need permission from Heimdall

In Avengers they "solve" the problem with a throwaway line, saying something like Odin used A LOT of dark energy to bring Thor here on earth.

In Agents of Shield last week, Lady Sif (a guest star) said that the Bi-Frost had deposited her at "Lorelei's last know location". That indicates if it wasn't fixed by Thor 2, that it is now. AOS is connected to the Marvel movies and is supposed to share plot points with the upcoming Captain America film.

But is it repaired by the end of thor 2 when he returns to asgard?

I just finished watching 2. It seems as if the bridge was finished, certainly when this movie started, if not when NYC was attacked. Thor basically explained, after the bridge was repaired, he was busy bringing peace to the realms that were in "disarray". That is why he was in NYC but didn't stop by and say "Hi" to Jane.

Right. That's what I recall -- the bifrost bridge is very clearly up and running throughout Thor 2.

Exactly! I felt they used throwaway lines to explain a lot of the issues in the film. "I'm always angry" being the one I hate the most. To quote my favorite spoof series, How it Should Have Ended.com "Uh..Details Not Important"
