The Walt Disney Company may not get full ownership of many of Marvel Entertainment's most famous superheroes if new copyright claims by the family of the late artist Jack Kirby have any merit.

Disney was fully aware of this I believe when they acquired Marvel, and it seems the suit is for rights that terminate years from now.

The heirs served the notices under the auspices of the U.S. Copyright Act, which permits authors and their heirs to terminate old copyright grants after a long waiting period, allowing them to recapture the rights for their own use.

A spokeswoman for Disney said: "The notices involved are an attempt to terminate rights seven to 10 years from now and involve claims fully considered in the acquisition."

Seems like this deal would get more expensive.

^ Way more expensive, I wouldn't want Marvel superheroes in any of the parks for some reason, as they should stay in Universal. All Disney should go is make the movies better. Are they taking complete control of Marvel or just some parts of it?

Hopefully Disney is smart and settles with the Kirby family.
