Hi, I have just booked a holiday to Orlando and will be staying at the Marriot Coutyard Lake Buena Vista. Just wondered if anyone has ever stayed there. Are Marriots generally nice?

Are you asking about the Courtyard at the Marriott Village / Lake Buena Vista? There is a Marriott Courtyard, Fairfield Inn and Springhill Suites at this location I am referring to. I have stayed several times overnight at the Marriott Courtyard at this location. I thought it was a very nice resort and the breakfast buffet (which was included with our room rate) was unbelievable. It is a comfortable hotel and the rooms are quite large in standard to other hotel chains. We were very pleased with this group of hotels and the resort is quite convenient to the DTD shopping area. I am sure you will enjoy your stay at this location. Have a magical trip.

I totally agree with Jamie P about the Courtyard at Marriott Village.
There are several Marriott Courtyard locations around Disney World. I've stayed at the one in the Marriott Village. It is clustered with the Fairfield Inn and Springhill Suites in one area. It is very nice and I highly recommend staying in any of the three hotels.

I have stayed at both the Courtyard and the Fairfield Inn at Marriott Village. Both are very good. As Jamie said, the breakfast is incredible. AAA offers a rate that includes the breakfast. Otherwise, I believe it is $10 per person. If you wish to dine in the area, right down the street (within walking distance) is Bahama Breeze (Carribbean Food), Golden Corral (Traditional American Food Buffet), and Lonestar Steakhouse. The location is great as well. It's right next to I-4 and only a 5 minute drive to the parks. I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

Thabks for your help. I will enjoy, hopefully! I just don't know what I should do at Disney, way too much to take in.

Since this is your first trip to Disney, don't try to do everything in one day. Take your time, relax and enjoy your visit. It takes us a full 7+ days to do everything we want, so don't panic if you can't fit everything in. The experience of being on property for the first time can be overwhelming. Just make sure that you book any dining, dinner shows or ticketed shows you want, as dining, etc can book up. It is always good to have reservations for the things or places you definitely want to do. Also, you will want to have your park tickets purchased before you go. They cost more when you buy them on property. Have a great trip and you will love the Marriott.

(Just wondered if anyone has ever stayed there.)
I stayed there in October 2001. It was very nice, aside from the fact the food court was closed. (they told us that the guest dropoff after 9/11 had caused that) One thing I particularly remember is that the washing machines had a button on them which when pushed, gave you free detergent! lol

Me and my wife stayed there (fairfield inn) last may for a night and we just booked another stay for this coming may, its very nice and close to the DTD area of disney. Also there is a big outlet mall down the street.
I am pretty sure the breakfast was included in the stay, which helped the overall cost. It wasn't a cheap breakfast, they had almost everything you need.

Those hotels are nice, we stayed at the Fairfield once way back. This is also right down the road from the Premium Outlet mall which has a disney outlet store in it. This store is run by disney and it is disney merchandise that was stuff that just didn't sell, overruns, left over holiday merch, etc. at a nice discount. You can get t-shirts for well under $20 that they sell for in the parks.
