Mardi Gras

I see the Universal is running a Mardi Gras theme on Saturdays from February through April. I will be down in Orlando for one weekend in March and myself and my friends are very interested in attending. Has anyone ever been? The website doesn't offer much information. Obviously I don't expect it to be like real Mardi Gras, with people walking around the streets drunk all day, but is it a good time?

Also, any idea about crowds the first weekend in March? My real reason for going to Florida is baseball spring training. A friend of mine who used to work at Disney told me she would see all kinds of baseball players at the parks. Any idea how this affects crowds? Thanks!

It's a lot of fun. The "party" starts at night, so if you're thinking of going during the day you won't be around a ton of drunk people. There's a parade and then a concert (list of performers can be found on the Mardi Gras website). It is definitely worth trying.

As for crowds....you shouldn't have much of a problem. Spring Break hasn't begun at that time so crowds should be light.

Thanks! I'm not even trying to avoid the drunkards, I enjoy a good drink or two myself (soooo looking forward to trying Margaritaville) I just didn't want to sound out of line! Except I probably do now. Hmm...

Really! I will certainly be on the look out for the cheese burger! mmmm a good burger sounds excellent right now, though its 9 AM. One more question, if you don't mind, and possibly the most important. Are there beads? Thanks again!
