Mardi Gras Week Questions

Will be there Feb 8 - 10. Wasn't planning on doing the Express Pass, because the early Feb crowds are supposed to be low, but seeing things about hotels being tough to come by for the days we are there. It's the beginning of Mardi Gras, and leads into Presidents Day weekend. Should I be concerned?

Oh, and does Universal have a Fat Tuesday parade?

There's a whole Mardi Gras celebration at UOR (studios side). They set up extra tents for cajun cuisine, there are bands, and a nightly parade with lots of beads (you can keep your shirt on).

Find it odd, a place so into Mardi Gras, doesn't have a parade on Fat Tuesday. 1 less thing I have to worry about at least.

Why would they have on on FT, everyone heads to NOLA to see the real deal then.

Touting it as Florida's Biggest Party, yet not having such a party on what is considered the biggest night of this party season I find odd, but not a big deal for us. Wanted to make sure we went if they had it. Now, no need to plan around it, which works for me.

Honestly, play it by ear. It always feels like the entire state of Louisiana chooses to escape here Mardi Gras week, and if Christmas crowds are any indication, more of those visitors than ever will find their way to UOR.

The lack of a parade on FT is odd, tho perhaps not as odd as MG stretching two weeks past Easter. This is Orlando, things are weird here. Pat O'Briens usually does a big street party that night, fwiw.
