Al Lutz has an interesting blurb up on Miceage today....

"Editor's Note 2/17: Disneyland's talented Entertainment Department has put the finishing touches on the new 3-week long Mardi Gras party that kicks off this weekend. The costumes and musical production numbers will mostly be a land-based version of the old Tiana's Showboat Jubilee, but the decorating department has already done a great job of adding extra pizzazz to New Orleans Square, arguably one of the best themed lands of any Disney park. The Mardi Gras concept has been ignored too long, and New Orleans Square will be crawling with TDA suits and survey takers this weekend to determine if it's a concept worth expanding further in 2012. - Al Lutz"

I think all of us have wondered why Disneyland doesn't do something with Mardi Gras in New Orleans Square this time of year. I can't wait to see what they've come up with! :king:

Looks like Disneyland almost got the Jubilee back, just minus the boat, and the Dr. Facilier scene. Its like the show never left with how well the performers know there stuff and looks/sounds like once again live vocals for Tiana and Naveen. Great timing on the Mark Twain lol

Great job Disneyland!!!!!:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

Hopefully this will do well for the next few weekends, and can make a bigger return next year.

I saw this on Sunday! What a treat to have this fabulous music and these great characters singing and dancing and living in New Orleans Square again! :sohappy:

New Orleans Square looks extra-sharp with the Mardi Gras decorations everywhere, and beads and baubles literally dripping off every lamppost and balcony. The little craft carts and Mardi Gras menu items at the restaurants are also a nice touch.

Obviously the Mardi Gras thing fits in New Orleans Square. So wonderful of Disneyland to pull this off so graciously and with such polish and panache.

Great job Disneyland!!! Happy Mardi Gras!

This weekends version of Tiana's Mardi Gras Celebration has a little stage set up for them as well as bunting from the Showboat Jubilee.

Not the greatest video but you can also see towards the end of the video they continue the dance till the end of the song similar to what started with BPB at DCA.

Rumor says that Tiana's Mardi Gras Celebration may stick around after the last Family Fun Weekend, grain of salt. Certainly would help since DL is parade less till May 27.

Also a look at some of the food offerings for the Mardi Gras Family Fun Weekends-
