Pre-Trip March 2016!!

Hello everyone!

Joined this forum a while ago and just started actively posting. My family and I are AP holders and go to WDW a lot! Not like every day, but at least twice a month. We spent 8 nights at Port Orleans Riverside back in June and loved every minute of it. It was the first time we had ever spent an extended amount of time on property; typically we just do a day or maybe two days and stay the night.

Now we have our next trip planned for March 2016 checking in to AoA on 3/23 and staying through the 27th! By then, my daughter will be two and she absolutely LOVES Ariel...so The Little Mermaid room we have will be perfect for her. I've made all of our ADRs already and my wife will work on the FP as it gets closer.

This should be a super fun trip and the weather should be perfect. :)

Sounds exciting! My daughter will be 23 months on our trip in April, so I can't wait to see how yours did !

Have you taken her to WDW at all? We took ours around 3 months and have been going ever since. She was 18 months when we went back in June.

So far, I've made all of our ADRs:

Paradiso 37 - never been here, but it looks great.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
Liberty Tree Tavern
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
Hollywood and Vine - this will be for breakfast

We're not sure if we're going to do the dining plan or not. Going to try and see if any discounts come out as we get closer.

Looking forward to hearing more about your planning and of course hoping you do a trip report when you return. My son will be just over 2 years old when we go next September for his first visit so I am hoping you will have some tips for us :)

yes! We just went in end of September. She turned 15 mos on the trip. It was a learning experience and I hope we can improve upon some things for April. One for us is only TWO ADR's for the whole trip. It was just too much for her, and the lack of predictability with her sleep schedule. In September we had my parents to help, and this is a just us trip, so I'm not worrying about ADR's.

The ADRs were definitely interesting. Even now that she's older it can sometimes be difficult, especially if it starts taking a while to get food and what not. We had dinner at California Grill one night and I ended up walking her around until she fell asleep because it was right at that time where she was sleepy/cranky and wouldn't sit nicely with us lol.

I'm so excited for this trip...I wish it were March already!

Congrats you will love it we are staying 3/20-26 @ GFV. Book your FP's as soon as they are available as they fill up fast.
My wife is in charge of FPs...I'll let her know.

So I ended up calling Disney back yesterday and added the DDP to our reservation. We also switched up the dinners. Instead of Paradiso, we're doing Chef Mickey's for dinner and instead of Sci-Fi, we're doing Coral Reef Restaurant. Figured we have the dining plan, so we may as well use it at more expensive places and get our monies worth.

So...we're now checking in to AoA on 3/22 instead of the 23rd. This trip needs to hurry up and get here so I stop adding days to our vacation. I've also changed up our dining plans as well; we're now eating at the following places:

Boma
Chef Mickey's
'Ohana
Liberty Tree Tavern
Akershus
Hollywood & Vine (breakfast)

Boma is amazing!! We had breakfast there and it was just so so good. We were staying at AKL, so it was nice to be able to just walk down there and not have to take a bus, hungry, to another place!

We did Boma for breakfast a few weeks ago for my birthday and absolutely loved it! This time around we're going to try it out for dinner. I'd imagine it's going to be just as good!!

I'm anxious to hear about it! I hear from others that it Is amazing and wish we would have done a dinner there too, since we were there! I didn't really plan that trip, my mother did, so maybe on a future trip!

It's finally here!! Just gotta get through this work day and then get some sleep because tomorrow morning, we're off to Disney! Over the weekend I got the house cleaned up, laundry cleaned and put away and even got everything packed. Tonight I'll take our dog over to a friend's house and get the stroller, pack n play and any other odds and ends packed in the car. Basically I want to walk up tomorrow, grab a bagel and head over to Orlando.

I already did online check in and requested our room be ready in the morning. If it all works out, I'll receive a text tomorrow saying our room is ready and then we can drive straight to the hotel, drop our stuff off and then go to the parks. If the room isn't ready, then we're heading straight for MK or Epcot.

Camera - check
64gb memory card - check
Visa rewards card and other gift cards - check
MBs - check

Ahh...so excited typing this. We can't wait!!
