Marathon Question

I was driving to work Sunday morning (this will be almost 6 am) and I knew the Marathon was been run. Does it run inside Epcot? Man Epcot was so lid even the lights (sky trackers) used in IllumiNations where On. Any clues why?

To answer, yes it runs right through the entrance gate of Epcot and exits out through the world showcase at some point. The reason for all the extensive lighting in that area was due to the fact that Epcot parking area was the staging area for all the runners of the race and also the start and end points of the race. Hope this helps.

The start and finish is at or near EPCOT. The start is out on World Drive with 2 different patterns that the runners take and then merge together at mile 3. They do run through all 4 parks during their travels. The finish line is in the Wonder Parking lot.

There's all sorts of entertainment along the course, which is why you saw lights from Illuminations going as well.

The start of the marathon is in the parking lot of Epcot. They run through future world heading for the world showcase, and out the back of world showcase somewhere around Norway. Then after running through all the other parks, they end up back by the international gateway. They come in near France, make one loop around the world showcase, and back out through future world and into the parking lot for the finish of the marathon.

My wife ran the Goofy Challenge(half marathon on saturday, full marathon on sunday). I will be posting a full trip report ASAP.

The start of the Marathon isn't in the parking lot. It is out on World Drive where they start. I'm not positive about the exact location that they start the half but it is pretty close to the same location but not in the lot.

Did you or your wife do a report about the races? Where are they?

WOW! I may be much more motivated to run if I were training to run through all the parks.

WAIT - I already do that on vacation. :ROFLOL:

Still, this sounds like it would be a good time if I lived to see the finish line!
