Management Training program question

Hoping someone can confirm some basic information for me here.

Does Disney really make one pay for one's own lodging and airfare (travel) to/from the Los Angeles management training location (after one is selected to attend the training)? Is it reimbursed in the first pay check (or some other way once on the payroll) or left to be claimed on the following year's taxes, if not reimbursed?

um... no such thing.

HOWEVER you might be speaking of a Disney Institute program. I would recommend checking out DisneyInstitute.com. This is not for internal leadership, but rather external leaders of companies looking to learn about Disney philosophies.

I, too, am confused... the Theme Parks use a program called Emerging Leaders as a "Management Training" program. To be selected for the program, you would already need to work for Disney, or would be a new hire, and the program is held at both WDW and DLR.

No idea about non-Theme Park Management though.

Thanks for the replies.

To provide some more details ... yes, definitely a new (Disney) hire, theme-park management position in FLA (maybe its the emerging leaders one you mentioned) and not talking about DisneyInstitute at all (I am familiar with that and what they offer). Why in the world wouldn't Disney pay airfare and lodging to such training?

Does this help?

Disney would be hiring you into the company first - so any moving costs would be negotiated as apart of your relocation package. Disney isn't likely to send someone through Emerging Leaders unless they've already been hired and relocated to Florida/California.

Yzma - How can I send you a Private Message? I'll explain in more detail when I do so, cause my saga gets more and more interesting by the day. Please let me know if that's possible on this message board (or anyone else who responded to this post, I'll also send you a PM with more details and then of course, a question or two). THANKS in advance.
