I don't know how many of you live near or visit New York City, but if you do deff. go see the Man of la Mancha on broadway. I saw it yesterday and it was excelient! I have lived in New JErsey all my life and visit NYC a lot and never see the shows. THis was my first "broadway" show and I absolutely loved it. Now I must warn you, they are addictive. Since comming home I have booked tickets to 3 more shows this summer (Beauty and the Beast, Rent, and Mamma Mia). I am also trying to go back to see Man of la Mancha again. I think if you go the day of the show and show a student ID you get seats for around $25.

So have you seen any good shows? Any other theater fans out there?

PS - Good luck to Brian Stokes Mitchell, I hope he gets the Tony for MOLM!

Hey BLIZZ!!

Welcome to the club!

Your life will never be the same. The excitement and emotion of a live performance will make your TV seem obsolete!

I've had the bug since I first stepped on stage at the age of 3.

It can be costly to see the shows but in perspective, it's well worth it. Be sure to use your student ID, as you mentioned, as well as visiting TKTS whenever you can...take advantage of same day "RUSH" tickets whenever they are offered, and even try a season subscription to your favorite theater to save money.

Glad you liked what you saw. MOLM is a classic!

You're gonna LOVE every show you selected!!! HAVE FUN!

Well I have been in technical theater since I was very young and seeing off-Broadwayu shows since I was even younger. I follow after my brother who just graduated from some school for lighting (he also showed me this site, lol, i take after him a lot!). I love working sound and lighting in my high school and I am a proud member of the International Thespian Society. But, seeing a show like MOLM (which I saw done a local theaters) done so well, was great. As well as the first show (next to the ones I work, hehehe) with good sound and an excelient lighting design.

I was so overwelmed. But I cant wait to see more.

My parents see shows more then me on Broadway and I think most of the time they use TKTS. I also use www.nytix.com for more help with NYC tv shows and my mom uses it to find the latest TKTS shows.

Yeah, I have been really curious about the revival of MoLM since I heard that they were doing it. There are so many shows on Broadway right now that I want to go see. Mama Mia... Man of La Mancha... Moving Out... Nine...

I hate that it cost so much to get a hotel there...

Well I must say the revival is great. Brian Stokes Mitchell is a great Don Quixote and sung "I, Don Quixote" and "Impossable Dream" exceliently.

I am trying to talk the directors at my school into doing it, maybe I can even design the sets.....

I just wish I had seen Les Mis before it closed, its one of my favs.

As for hotels, I agree they do cost a lot! The one hotel I love is the Marriot Marquis Manhatten. It is located in the middle of the theaters. I also like the Westin Hotel thats near the St. James Theater.
