Making the most of Memory Maker.....advice?

We've been here 2 days, 4 more left. We have 33 shots so far.

Two more days at MK, one at Epcot and one at AK. We have one daughter so there is 3 of us.

I was overwhelmed Day One on MK and probably wasn't aware of all the photographers. We go again today.

Any other advice to make the most of the $149 I shelled out? I love what we have so far....and SO much better than me doing it on my phone.

A lot of the photographers have "magic" in their cameras. Always ask if they do. They'll take the normal shots and then they'll pose you in some odd way for the magic shot. When the photos come back there will be a character in the photo with you. It does not take a lot of time to get your picture somewhere so always stop at any photographer you see. And always stop for any on ride photos to be added to you magic band after the ride.

I went with a party of 11 for 10 days (family reunion). When we were done we had 200 photos, you can then edit the photos and create more from the 200 and you get some stock photos. When we were all done I was sent the CD with 450 photos and the stock photos. I was able to make great photo albums for the other families for Christmas. They were real tear jerkers.

Stop for more pictures. Even if you already did one group shot in front of the castle, stop again for another photographer. Not only does this help to increase your chances of getting a great pic (IE someone not blinking, random person doing a "derp" face in the background) and help to ensure that your pictures don't get lost, but every photographer has their own style. Some will simply have you pose and crank out 3 pictures and then have you move on, but others will have you make funny faces, do different poses, etc, resulting in 15-20 pictures just from that one photographer. Don't be afraid to have ask them to take more. Ask for solo pics, each of your with your DD separately, etc. Come up with your own poses. Maybe try some where the three of you stack your heads (like a totem pole), or do back to back shots, parents kissing w/DD hiding face, etc. If you have an idea for something that you want done, as long as it is safe and doesn't endanger other guests they are usually game for it. Take pics both during the day and night. The lighting is vary different, so you can end up with 2 vastly different pictures.
If you bought Memory Maker, make sure to take advantage of the ride photos & videos. That's the main benefit to buying Memory Maker vs just the Photo CD, so use it.

Often times the ones who shoot characters just meander around the M&G location between sets, and are more than willing to take pictures while they are waiting.

The wife and I did four days this past June for our anniversary. We ended with 177 photo's. She has eagle eyes, and would spot a photographer a mile away and drag me into that direction.

I remember @ MK, main street had three or four photographers in succession, we stopped at all of them :p, etc.

Once you start looking for them, you will find them everywhere. Couple that with a few sprinkled in characters and rides, and you should be able to make your monies worth.

150 / 177 = $0.85 per photo

Sure not all of them are keepers, but thats value in my book compared to prices you pay on individual photo's, that take time out of your day to choose, and hope it was worth it.

MM is another one of those 'carefree' packages, keeping your day moving along, knowing you can look through them all later, even in the hotel room that night if you log into your MDE and view them.

So that was just two of us, and we still made the best out of it. Those with larger families, its a must in my opinion.

My kids are now conditioned to stop at every photo pass photographer we see. :D It only takes a minute and they realize now how much We love looking at the photos once we are back home and missing Disney again. Sometimes it is a little more difficult to find photographers, but if you look hard enough, they are there. Be sure to get your ride and dining photos too. The best part is when you come home and you get to crop, edit, add borders, etc. To your photos. It makes them even better and you end up with many many more.

Like others have said, take multiple shots. I would stop on main street 3/4 times as each one is a little closer to the castle. Make sure you do day and night shots. On ride attractions are a must and also now they have videos! Well one video at ToT but more to come!

On ride photos are automatic now - if you are wearing your magic band. Mine just appeared in my account.

As others have said, take a picture in the same spot multiple times, with different photographers. They all have different styles, and sometimes different props.

Last April we did a full day in MK and Epcot, and half day in HS, AK. We ended up with over 200 photos. We stopped anytime we seen someone taking photos. We got multiple shots and always asked about magic shots.

I just downloaded my photos to my computer yesterday of our trip. With edits I have 820 pics from my 11 day trip. We have pics at each park plus Blizzard Beach. The Blizzard Beach photographers were great and even did like mini sessions of my kids playing. We have them from rides, Jedi Academy for 2 of my kids, Enchanted Tales with Belle, oodles of character meets and dining, too. Without this I would have been in no photos. Starting last week a couple of rides even show you on video on them...that's cool.
I don't think we get a CD, although I wish I would. It says digital copies only which is why I downloaded them to my computer.

Thinking of getting this for the first time. How do the on ride photos work? Do you scan your magic band somewhere? Do you have to wait in line at the counter as they find your photo?

The ride photos automatically link to your band no need to go to the counter. If you go to the counter you just end up with two of the same photos in your library.

The CD is an extra purchase you would make at some point. Doesn't matter if you pre-purchased or bought in park, you can still add the CD. I believe its $19.95 or so.

Somewhat similar to how EZ-Pass toll systems work. There are longer range chips in the bands that can be picked up by sensors on the sides of the ride as your vehicle goes through for purposes such as this.

The extra for the CD is not worth it. Just burn your own CD/DVD once you have downloaded everything. That's what I did and was able to then make copies for the other people in our group.
