Major in College and CP

I went to Disney's CP website and it didn't say of a certain major as a requirement to get in.
With that said, does anyone know if they give preference to certain majors? Are the majority in the program business majors?

As you said, Disney accepts all majors for the college work program, however; some of the advanced and management internships require specific knowledge. For example, there are a number of biology advanced internships. As to whether or not they prefer certain majors, I don't really know. However, I am leaving this week to begin my internship with them and I am going into computer security, with an associates in micro-computer technology and working towards a bachelors in occupational and technical studies.

for the CP, i don't think they give preference to certian majors. i did my program this past spring and my major is Rad-tech (x-ray tech), and my job down there was Housekeeping Runner and Dispatch. my roommate is a graphix design major and did ODF QSF&B.

Usually, if you're just doing a regular College Program semester, they won't place you in your major. My sister was a Psychology Major when she did the College Program, and actually ended up doing Lifeguarding and Food Service. But, Usually if you do the Advanced Internships, they place you in your major. When my sister switched her major over to Elementary Ed, they placed her for an Advanced Internship with the Y.E.S (Youth Education Series) Program, where when students come to Disney, people like my sister would teach them things like science, and how they're related to Disney. For example, G forces on Space Mountain or they would take cups of water onto Big Thunder Mountain to see if they could keep the water in them to test gravity. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help everyone, do appreciate it! For some odd reason I was in a mindset that they only had internships where you sat behind a desk all day and shuffle envelops around all day

Nope, for the regular CP, major is not a factor. I'm a biology major/psyc minor, and worked in Merchandise, then Entertainment.

I'm a fast-food service major. Do you think they'd place me in my major if I requested it? :lol:
