MAINGATE PASS - HOW DOES IT WORK?

I'm fairly new and just got my Blue Self Admission pass + 2 One-Day PH passes, and no one explained the system to me. I have 3 kids (the youngest being 5) and a fiance that I would love to take to Disney, but I dont know how? And the 1 day passes arent enough for my family.

1 co-worker said I can get UNLIMITED visits just for MYSELF ONLY using my Blue Self Admission pass.

Another co-worker said I could use it for myself and up to 3 guests. But I have a LIMIT of 12 visits.

But online I saw that I could use it for myself + a spouse + 3 guests with the limit of 12 visits.

So which 1 is it? And if it's the latter, does that mean I'm included in those 12 visits? Or is MY admission unlimites, and I have 12 guests entries?

Also, what does Maingate mean? Is that the entrance to Magic Kingdom? Please clarify this for me. TIA!

All I remember from being a CP is that Maingate is literally just what the pass you have is called. It gets you into the parks unless they're blocked for cast members, and allows you to park hop. I'm not sure about how it works with family since that is all different from when I was there. If you don't find an answer though, I believe there is a phone number either on your Maingate, or the letter it came with, and if not then somewhere on the Hub and they would be able to answer your questions.

A self admission pass is usually for casual / seasonal cast or operating participants (3rd party employees), which would allow you unlimited visits unless blocked out. All the different things you are hearing about extra passes and such are based on your role and whether you are an employee of TWDC or an operating participant etc. Your leader at your location should be able to explain how it works based on you role. Enjoy your park time!

gotcha, OPs usually get a self admissions pass good unlimited admittance for yourself along with 4 complimentary tickets a year, 2 in the winter and 2 in the summer. Unfortunately the "you plus 3 others for 12/14/16 times a year" type main gate passes are usually just for full time employees of TWDC. Enjoy your time at Epcot, world showcase is my favorite place at wdw!
