Main Street's New Music Loop

Old news or new news depending on how well you follow DLR related news, but a new or updated Main Street music loop made it's debut today.

Starting next Monday, January 9, guests strolling down Main Street, U.S.A., will be humming along to some new – and familiar – tunes. For the first time in 20 years, we are once again adding new music to the iconic entrance music of Disneyland park.
Though there have been many updates over the years, the last refresh of Disneyland’s Main Street’s musical score was back in 1992, when selections recorded for Disneyland Paris were brought back to Disneyland park in California.
This time around, over a dozen new tunes, arranged and recorded specifically for Main Street, U.S.A., will join many of the existing songs. Included in the new mix are such iconic period pieces as “Meet Me in St. Louis, Louis,” “In the Good Old Summer Time,” “Alexander’s Ragtime Band,” “Oh You Beautiful Doll,” Scott Joplin’s “Maple Leaf Rag,” and a recent tune given a turn-of-the-last-century arrangement, Michael Giacchino’s “Married Life” from Disney•Pixar’s “UP.”
So the next time you’re ambling down Main Street, U.S.A., keep an ear out for some new – and old – classics!

Love the new additions! Always thought the soundtrack from Up felt like it belonged on Main Street, so glad to see they thought the same. 'Up with Titles' would have also fit in really well in the loop, but obviously 'Married Life' is the track everyone remembers from it.

Having 'Maple Leaf Rag' in the loop is also a welcome addition as I've grown up my entire life associating that tune with Main Street. Excited to hear it in person this weekend...

^ Agreed! I'm happy to hear "Married Life" made it to Main Street. It also sounds like all the songs that made it from the previous loop have been redone as well. Sounds a bit "slower"(probably not the correct wording) than the old loop but it works.

DLR has some great new loops that have made their way over the past 2 years. I will miss the old one but keeping things fresh is the way to go IMO.

I really love the new loop. It maintains what I enjoyed about the old loop, and the additions fit perfectly. I'm happy that the "Married Life" arrangement doesn't include the sad part, and "Maple Leaf Rag" is an awesome addition (the first time I heard that song was in the Mickey Mouse black and white short "The Whoopee Party", so I always associate it with Disney).

I hope that the Magic Kingdom in Florida gets this loop soon.
