Main Street, USA revision (from my proposed 6th Disney theme park)

I now have here my revised rendering of Main Street, USA from my proposed 6th park. In my original map, The Hall of Presidents was way undersized, so I enlarged it to closer to its actual size and moved it, since there wasn't enough room for HOP in Town Square. Here is what I now have so far:

The attractions listed and numbered are as follows:

1.) Disneyland Railroad Station
2.) The Walt Disney Story: a somewhat different presentation from the current Disneyland Anaheim and former WDW presentation; actually, this is probably a little more along the lines of Walt Disney: One Man's Dream.
3.) Main Street Bank: similar to the former WDW attraction which was replaced my Main Street Gallery. Main Street Bank offers, among other things; Disney Dollars, AAA services and information, and foreign currency exchange.

4.) City Hall
5.) Main Street Fire Station
6.) The Emporium
7.) Crystal Palace: similar to WDW and Tokyo Disneyland restaurant; with character meals at Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner! Guests are joined by Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, and Eeyore at all 3 meals! In addition, Crystal Palace is also accessable from Adventureland from the back. IIRC, WDW's Crystal Palace can only be accessed from Main Street and Tokyo Disneyland's from Adventureland only. Therefore, we now have the best of both worlds here! :D

8.) The Hall of Presidents
9.) Main Street Cinema
10.) Tony's Town Square Restaurant
11.) Penny Arcade
12.) The Disney Gallery
13.) Main Street Vehicles (at least this is where MS Vehicles was listed on WDW's, so I placed it here-- why not?! :D )

Some of the remaining spaces between the numbers include various other shops, eateries, and other retail establishments which are located throughout Main Street, USA. If anyone has questions, comments, and/or suggestions, please post them to this thread on the Imagineers forum. I look forward to hearing from you! :)

Note about positions of the attractions:

I noticed that you have the Walt Disney Attraction in the corner. I think that being so hidden would cause low traffic flow. It is also next to the bank which is very tiny. I can only see it being 10 wide. I think that you will not have enough room for both in that location. Even if you build only the bank, it probably would be only 25 feet wide, which is very narrow.

Suggestions for additions

When Walt originally disigned Main Street he wanted to replicate a Main Street he grew up with. One thing that was in the original Disneyland was a General Store. It had a potbellied stove and checkerboard place. It had a phone that you could listen to a party line on. It did not sell much, but it was fun to go through.

There was also a place where artists would draw your picture. There was a flower shop. There was a tobacco shop. There was also an Ice Cream Parlor, which the youth of the turn of the century loved. I am not suggesting that all those things be included in your plan, but there are some other things you could include.

Looks like I made an error in designing town square. Here is a corrected rendering, with ample space for finding The Walt Disney Story:

I was planning on an Ice Cream Parlor-- not sure of its location since I have no idea where DL and WDW have theirs! Also, when did DL and WDW have the General Store, flower and tobacco shops, and the place where artists draw your picture?
Apparently these have been discontinued, since I don't recall reading about these anywhere.

Anyway, thanks for your suggestions! I will probably find them quite useful! :)

Hi,

You asked about where those other items were. Well, in your design, you have a street cross over Main Street at an angle in the center. That is about the place Walt designed he, but more perpendicular to Main Street. It allowed him to put the Ice Cream parlor on the corner on the left so you saw it going up the street. Other other corner, but south side, he put the general store. In the street on that side he put the artists. Across from them, in the street south of Ice Cream parlor, he put the flower shop. In his version they sold fake flowers, but it was a beautiful place to get a picture, with all those flowers there.

South of the General store was the Cinema, then magic shop and then the tobacco shop. He also included a watch shop, jewelry store, candle shop. There was a photographer's shop and penny arcade. He also had a fire station.

Things that he did not include but could be fun. How about a bicycle shop that is owned by the Wright Brothers. It can have a place for the history of flight. Also Edison's invention shop. It can display antique phonegraphs, lights, movie cameras, and other Edison inventions.

What do you think?
