Main Street train station voice?

Does anyone remember back in the 80's (around 1985, because I remember it from my first visit) a man's voice that would come over a speaker at the Main Street train station and say something like, "you have fiiiiive minutes" (I'm assuming it was five minutes until the train departed) in a big, booming, sort of monotone voice?

I'm trying to recall if it was something that did indeed exist. For some reason, I remember that.

Maybe I was dreaming or something.
