Main Street Train Station drawing (from my Magic Kingdom theme park)

I have here a drawing of the Main Street train station for my proposed Magic Kingdom theme park. Here is a URL to my drawing:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v668/KentB3/ProjectXTrainStation.jpg

The Main Street train station in my proposed MK park comes from a combination of features from Disneyland's, WDW's, and (to a lesser extent) Disneyland Paris' Main Street train stations. The basic shape of the building comes mainly from Disneyland's train station, with the double flagpole towers on each end. The size and much of the layout of the train station comes from WDW's Main Street train station. In addition to the size and layout of the building, similarities to WDW's train station can be seen in the shape of the windows (though the right flagpole tower window is an almost direct clone of Disneyland's), the decor on the exterior (such as under the eaves of the building and on top of the roof), and the canopy over the area where the train stops. The roof over the large middle window and the column-like structures on each side of that window come from Disneyland Paris' Main Street train station, in case anyone has never seen theirs before! :animwink:

However, this drawing is not entirely complete, as I have left to do the lower part of the building below the canopy. This is because almost every photo I have seen of WDW's train station had the train in front of it, making this difficult to see. Also, the large middle window will have writing on painted on it; reading "(name of the theme park resort) Magic Kingdom Railroad Office in the top pane, and "Keeping Dreams on Track"/"Walter E. Disney, Chief Engineer" in the lower pane of the middle window"!

If anyone has questions, comments, and/or suggestions, please feel free to post! :)

Great drawing! I realy like your station, you are a realy good artis. I cant wait to see more pictures from your whole park!

I also have maps of my Magic Kingdom park in my photo album. Here is a URL to it: http://photoalbums.wdwmagic.com/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=8327

Each land has two maps; one listing rides and attractions, and another listing shops and restaurants; with the exception of Mickey's Toontown, which has everything on one map since it's small. Also, Frontierland and Critter Country are on the same maps.

However, I have made a few revisions since drawing up these maps. In Discoveryland, Carousel of Progress has replaced Innoventions, Cosmic Waves is out, and SGE was replaced by a Stitch motion simulator ride similar to Jimmy Neutron's Blast at Universal. Also, Captain Hook's Pirate Ship/Skull Rock have been added to Adventureland, adjacent to a small island similar to the one Swiss Family Treehouse is on at WDW's Magic Kingdom and Tarzan's Treehouse is in my MK them park; both of which are connected by bridges to the nearby mainland, and the islands are connected to each other by a swinging suspension bridge similar to the bridge connected both of WDW's Tom Sawyer Island islands!

Captain Hook's Codfish and Chips restaurant will be moved to Adventureland as well, housed in a two-story cave structure adjacent to Skull Rock (which will have a walkthrough like the pirate ship), and will have over 400 seats on both leves for guests to dine. Last but certainly not least, I also added the two-story Alice in Wonderland dark ride (similar to Disneyland's) to Fantasyland. Peter Pan's Flight will remain in Fantasyland, since it would never fit anywhere else but Fantasyland; unlike Hook's ship, which could go in either land but generally fits better in Adventureland thematically! :animwink:

I also have my drawing of the castle from my Magic Kingdom park in my photoalbum as well, Beauty and the Beast castle; which is largely modeled after Disneyland Paris' castle, with many features of the post-transformation castle from the 1991 movie, such as the domed ballrooom.

Enjoy! :)

I Love your drawings.
-These are only sudgestions, DOnt hate me for this please.

YOur train station would definately be my favorite disney station! I like your castle too, Except i think it looks a little too much like disneyland Paris' castle. I like there castle and all it's just that I think they should have made the different parks have different castles, Tokyo Disneyland Is exactly like Disneyworld's, and Honk Kong Disneyland's is exactely like Disney lands. THis creates and almost unorigional feel. WHere as your's is different it just looks to close to Paris's (which I think should have been Beauty and the Beast's castle, not a remade Sleeping Beauty castle, Now she will have 3 castles on 3 continents. Honestly who can afford the mortgage on that many castles!)

Your's looks great, I just think that the turrets should be a little more boxy like in the movie. here is a picture of what the castle with the square turrets and Oval Ball room.

Well for one thing, I planned my Disney theme park resort as a 3rd U.S. resort destination (Disneyland Resort and WDW are the other 2), and since we already have Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland (also Hong Kong Disneyland, in the same form) and Cinderella Castle at WDW and Tokyo Disneyland, I thought it would be nice to have a castle similar to Disneyland Paris' castle, especially since the design is absolutely mind-blowing! Secondly, Beauty and the Beast Castle (the one in my Magic Kingdom park) does NOT have the exact same design as as DLP's Sleeping Beauty Castle, but a greatly modified version of it. For example, mine is taller than DLP's (approximately 170 feet as opposed to 142 feet for DLP's SB castle), mine is a lot wider (this would be the widest of Disney's theme park castles if/when actually built), mine has no hill on the side, and also has many features from the castle in the movie (B&TB) such as the domed ballroom. In addition, I also have a clock above the entranceway, much like Cinderella Castle has, as well as a permanent stage area in the front like the one in front of Cinderella Castle; with the double stairway curving around it towards the entrance. Also, on the top roof, I have a window pane very much like the one on Cinderella Castle (Disneyland's SB castle has a similar pane on the top roof, but considerably smaller). In other words, I didn't directly copy DLP's castle as you had suggested, but used most of its features in mine! :animwink:

I have seen that picture before, in fact, I have a copy of that advertisement in an old Disney Magazine from a few years back!

Hope this answers your questions. And BTW, I do NOT hate you at all for this; in fact, I understood your point(s) perfectly! :) :D :animwink:

hmmm....I actually think it would be great to have a direct replica of the movie version of the beauty and the beast castle. Just add in the clock tower entryway of Cinderella Castle and maybe turn the tallest spire into something gold and it would be perfect.

This is an awesome castle. Stitchcastle has an idea though...and a good one at that lol. However, I've noticed one thing with all these different parks and castles being created. No one ever uses the castle from Little Mermaid as a basis or reference. It is a rather interesting castle. Just something that stood out to me...

Actually, you're wrong. Tokyo DisneySea uses the castle from The Little Mermaid. Here is a map of Mermaid Lagoon, one of the lands at Tokyo DisneySea: http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tds/english/7port/mermaid/atrc_map.html

Just thought you'd like to know! :animwink:

Oh...well then lol  I mean't uh...er...ummm *nervous* that the Magic Kingdom/Disneyland castles haven't been inspired. (And I don't know much at all about Tokyo DisneySea) lol....can I be off the hook now ;)?

Maybe so, but I don't think Little Mermaid Castle would work in a MK park too well. I was leaning towards a DisneySea park for my 3rd gate (if/when profits and attendance merit a 3rd gate), and may use The Little Mermaid Castle there as well. If I do use this castle in my DisneySea park, it would be more of a centerpiece icon like in the Magic Kingdom/Disneyland parks.

now thinking about it though.
What if they did do King Tritons castle as the center piece. I mean it would be cool. fantasy land would have a totaly different feel about it. Instead of the normal carousel you would have king tritons sea horse carousel. and instead of flying Dumbos you could ride a flying(swimming) Crush!
This would put a new spin on the whole magic kingdom.

pesonaly I would like to see Prince Erics Castle recreated for a park. I think that all the parks should have a different recognizeable castle that would stand out as its own icon and be unique to the park. I mean I find it funny when I see Disneyland Tokyo and disneywould advertise in the same block and see both castles just from different angles. and they are exactly the same! We know that although the castles are the same the parks are very different. but an outsider would think thats boring and they are the same park. Why go there when i can go to florida or such.

They pretty much already did that with DisneySea's Mermaid Lagoon.

You could only put up so many Disney castles that would remain to be iconic and recognizable as "disney":

Snow White - arguably the rightful namesake of the German inspired castles of Anaheim and Hong Kong.
Cinderella - Florida and Tokyo
Sleeping Beauty - Paris
Beauty and the Beast - none

they should just forget the whole castle of a princess thing and just name it the "disney" castle which would encompass all of Disney's animated movies.

but that's just me.
