Main Street construction/refurb updates?

If this is a repeat thread, please delete. I did a search and could not find any news as of recent. The never ending, much needed updates to Main Street and the existing Fantasyland have been going on for what seems like forever. I, like others are so glad these updates are coming. Though the tarps are numerous, they aren't too bad and they really do make me feel like progress is being made in Magic Kingdom. I don't even notice them when I am there. But what all is left and how much longer? Does anyone have any recent pictures of the awesome work being done? What are the next buildings that are on schedule to be worked on? I fell like there needs to be a thread to help keep up with these updates. A project tracker of sorts. Everyone, feel free to share. I am very curious to see what people know of the future rehabs and current work that is being done. After all, Main Street really is the heart of Walt's vision and the Magic Kingdom.

And this is not including Peter Pan, Mad Tea Party, Fantasyland Expansion, Casey's Corner and Indy Speedway. Magic Kingdom is getting a lot of love. I know last year when I went at this time there was about the same amount of updates going on. I just wonder what all is left. :)

I'm just happy the place is getting fixed up. I guess the tarps on Main Street don't seem too bad considering they do a pretty good job putting the fecades on them to make them look better. There aren't that many versus not too far back when there were alot more there, according to the pic updates I've been following.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that they use some of their "off-peak" time, like now, to do a lot of their renovations. Basically, if they can avoid affecting the large majority of thier paying customers, they will. They most likely want to get a lot done prior to the holiday season when they will be packed again. I know I've been monitoring the work, and most of the renovation and refurb seems to be scheduled to end by mid-November, just time time for my December trip :)

It does seem to be finishing right before the Thanksgiving and Christmas crowds. Which works well for me seeing that i ma there from November 25th to December 12th.

I guess we will have to take this all as it comes, i think the shinny new MK will look great when 2012 hits.:sohappy:

Great point. And something I had thought about too. refurbing in off season is the was to go. Speaking of schedule, does anyone have one for these updates? I am just curious. Also, it would be cool to see an overview of Main Street with everything colored out so we can see what is left of one exists. :)

Very true that there have been many rehabs in the past year or so. It's a great thing for the MK.

However, to answer your question, there PLENTY of spaces across the MK that are left to do and looking somewhat shabby. Tomorrowland especially is looking pretty rough in some areas. There are lots of places that don't appear to need full replacements/repaintings, but just a few good overnight scrubbings.

I know that the FLE won't be finished in time, but I can't help but think that this is TDOs way of giving us something good for the 40th anniversary of WDW (by the way, there's no sarcasm here...I'm being serious).
