I was just wondering if the main gate pass worked as a "park hopper". Like if i bring someone to Magic Kingdom in the morning can we go to any of the other parks on that day without using another pass...

Sort of. The passes that your guests will receive as they go through the turnstyles will act as 1-day park hoppers. The main gate itself can only be used once per day at one park per day.

(so, to answer your ultimate question: yes, you will be able to go to another park that same day without it counting against your main gate total. Keep in mind that you won't be able to hop to a park that is under a black-out restriction on that day)
