Magicband for AP Parking?

I renewed my APs a few weeks ago and haven't gotten the parking/discount card in the mail yet. I called since I may decide to head over to the parks in the next few days. The guy asked if I had magicbands. When I said yes he told me not to worry about parking because they can scan it at the parking entrance.

Is this true?

He also said with respect to other discounts that I could get a card at guest services. I assume that is true.

I love how Disney lets you customize your MBs and sends them to you within a week after you customize them, but takes forever with the cards...*sigh*

I would think that they have a scanner, though you may want to stop by Guest Relations at DTD and pick up your Passholder card there just to be safe.

Yes they do have a scanner, and yes they will give you the discount (free parking).

I am not sure about the parking cards. I got one with my original MagicBand but not the renewal one and I never received a parking card at all. I noticed on my renewed AP the other day that the AP says 2014/2015 Parking on the back. Maybe that's the way they are going?

When you renew your AP's you get the band and a discount/parking card.
The card is not good for park admission, it simply identifies whether you have free parking and show that you get an ap discount.
