Magical Express

We are using Magical Express on our next vacation. My question is our flight doesn't leave until 8:35pm, since check out is by 11 am can we still use it? Will the resort hold onto our luggage? Do we just need to be back at our resort at a certain time to board the bus? Thanks for the help!

Yeah you can. On our last trip, we left everything we didn't need for the day with the concierge desk. When we arrived back at the resort to meet the bus, we picked up our luggage and were all set. We are planning the same thing for our upcoming trip. Our flight leaves about the same time yours does, so we are planning on an early start to the day with packing, checking out, and either Disney Springs for the day or one last park day. Then we'll be back to get the bus at 5 pm.

That will be us as well. Usually our flight home is mid day, so the last day is pretty much a wash.. enough time to get up.. pack.. and burn the last of the snack credits in the hotel gift shop.. but this year, with such a late return flight.. we are squeezing in an extra park day! :)

Depending on your airline you may be able to use the airline check in service at the resort and go ahead and have your suitcases checked then you can just leave your carry on at bell services. That's what we always do.

There is a limited time that the DME will take your bags. I believe that you have to have them dropped off to them by 1:00, if you don't you then have to go thru the process of dropping them off at the airport. We always take the last flight out to Houston, which is around 6:15. We get everything packed up the night before except for clothes we will wear and toiletries, then pack those up and drop off our bags first thing in the morning with the DME. Then after breakfast at the resort, we drop off any carry-on stuff with bell services and go to the parks until about 2. This usually allows plenty of time for us to get back to the resort, get our stuff from bell services, and then get on our DME which is always scheduled for 3:00.

One other thing to note for evening flights, unless it's changed Resort Airline Checkin can only take bags a maximum of 12 hours before your flight.

So if you have a 10:30pm flight, don't anticipate being able to check your bags at 7am. You'd have to wait until after 10:30am.
( And on the flip side, they cannot check bags less than 3 hours before the flight)

Piggy backing the answers, the resort also has locked cages in bell hop services that you can have your carry on bags stored in if you're worried about something valuable getting misplaced or broken. When we go I always take my laptop in my carry on so it doesn't get jumbled around in a suit case. Since it's valuable we always ask for them to put my bag in a cage so that nothing happens to it.
