Magical Express to different hotel?

If you're using the Magical Express service, do you have to take the bus to your assigned hotel for check-in right away?

We're arriving at the airport in the evening and want to get to the Magic Kingdom as soon as possible since we're doing Mickey's NSS Halloween Party that same night. Even though we're staying at the Caribbean Beach, we'd like to get delivered to a more convenient hotel like the Contemporary (for monorail service) while our luggage is whisked off to "our" hotel? We could then complete check-in when we got back latter that night.

I would think that you'd want to check into your resort first-- especially since you're already arriving in the evening. Then, when you leave the MK later that night... tired from traveling and playing... all you have to do is go to your room and your luggage will be waiting. Otherwise, without checking in first, you will need to do that, then have Bell Services retrieve your luggage and deliver it to your room. It seems like more of a hassle to me.

Yep, you risk not being able to get your luggage until the next morning by not checking in until after MNSSHP.
