Hi guys,
I've been having back problems recently and am on a waiting listing on the NHS, (free medical treatment here means substandard treatment with a long wait). As we're heading to WDW in 18 days I had to go privately.
I had my first appointment today, I was prodded and rubbed! I had that thing done where they twist your neck and it sounds like it snaps! Wow! It's hurts for a second and then the relief is amazing! He also did it to my back by pushing my hip one way while pushing my shoulder the other! Ouch!
BUT the main reason for this thread is the results in one aspect ..... Before he even touched me he told me to bend down and touch my toes (legs straight) I have never been able to do this and my fingers were about 2 inches from the floor......after his treatment he asked me to do it again...... I could touch the floor!!!! Not just finger tips but pretty much half my fingers!!!! I'm amazed!!!!!!
I'm in agony at the moment but have another app on Monday so hopefully I'll be able to skip around the parks!

Glad it's helping, Di! I had a problem with a bulging disc back in the spring, actually came up while I was at WDW, terrible pain and I wound up with a limp. I had some physical therapy and the swelling went down, but I can tell that my back isn't quite right yet, and someone I know recommended their osteopath. I must make an appointment...

Please read up on the "snapping" before you go back. People get paralyzed from that kind of treatment. The last show I watched about this was so sad. These people had had the treatment many times, but it only took one tiny wrong more and bam. They said on the show that only firm, yet gentle, with no popping/snapping should ever be done. Yet, these people continue doing the treatments because it hasn't happened to any of their patients. I don't want to be the "one" that it happens to. The show also said that it's a never ending process once it starts. The pain always comes back. I finally broke down and had back surgery after the disc actually ruptured. Even with the disc ruptured, I waited a year in agony to have the surgery. I got to the point where I was in total agony.
Just be careful and do the research. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck.

I practically shivered when you said you heard your spine snap. Yikes!

But glad you're feeling better and can touch your toes!

I groaned when I read the word "snaps". Hope it's helping though.
At the moment I'm in more pain! He said I would feel tender for a few days but I'm glad I'm getting help, thanks :)

Sorry to hear you're suffering, it's worth trying other options. :)
It's like cracking your knuckles, only with your neck. LOL
That's a better way of describing it, rather than 'snapping'! It's very intense though!!!

Wow! My positive outlook has been ruined! I've also heard that once you suffer back problems they are never solved, you just have to find a way of managing them. Thanks for the advice, sorry to hear of your pain. :(

Thanks, I'm not feeling better yet but pleased to hopefully be getting somewhere! I've never had an ambition to touch my toes but I've done it about 10 times since my appointment! :D
