Magic Kingdom Summer Hours

Pardon me if this had been discussed previously. I was just curious about the hours for Magic Kingdom. It just seems to me that at one point in previous years the Magic Kingdom stayed open until at least midnight or even 1am. When Magic Kingdom had extra evening hours, it was open until 2 or 3am ( capacity crowds). Besides "budget cuts", why has this happened? Is there any chance of Disney making the decision to extend the hours?! It just seems so odd that Animal Kingdom will be open until 11pm. Thanks everyone.

The initial postings of park hours seems to be a default setting. As the weeks and months roll by and the dates that you're watching approach, then the hours are subject to change. The change will be based on numbers of guests within the resorts - if the resorts are full then chances are the park hours will increase.

Remember - posted park hours are a GUIDE and are subject to change, UP TO and INCLUDING the day that you visit

For some reason this logic slipped my mind when I was explaining WDW and how long parks stay open to my bff. My mind immediately went to them cutting back hours to force people into the after hours event or to visit Disney Springs :banghead:.

Thanks for asking this, as I had been wondering the same thing. I do hope they update the June hours soon, as I was also used to more Extra Magic Hours at the MK and longer average hours as well.

Seeing the same kind of weirdness with the hours at AK. They are listed as being open until 11:00 PM from Memorial Day weekend until July 2nd as night time at AK begins. Then the hours go back to 5:00 PM closing starting July 3rd. That seems like it has be something that changes.

Hopefully we will see MK hours extended as we get closer to Summer. Although I can't help but wonder if shorter hours at MK aren't intended to force guests over to AK until we all get used to the park being open later. Probably just my suspicious mind but I think most moves made by Disney are calculated.

Not sure if I like these "calculated" moves.:(

Can you say PAID EMH? - Even though the current paid EMH is a dismal failure I think WDW is still going to put a price on EMH, Looks like $150 is a non-starter as it's been discounted to $75 for DVC and AP holders. Expect them to play with pricing so they can monetize the late evenings.

I guess Disney will be losing that extra magic appeal.:arghh: They're becoming just like all other theme/amusement parks where they charge extra for getting in line "first".
