Magic Kingdom Evening Extra Magic Hours

Just curious about this. When and why did the MK evening extra magic hours change from Sunday evenings to Saturday evenings? We always arrive on Saturdays and because we fly to Orlando so early we usually head back to our hotel early on Saturday evening. The last three years we have gone to WDW at the same time of the year (1st or 2nd week of March) and the extra hours were on Sunday nights. For us the extra evening hours have been the best times we have had on our WDW trips. Thanks in advance for any insight.

This past summer. It seemed busier than the Sunday EMHs, so maybe they thought that Saturday evenings would bring more people in.

The Saturday that we will be there is March 7, 2015 which is also the night that Daylight Savings begins. I wonder how they would handle that. Usually the park has been open until 3am on that emh night when we are there. If the time jumps forward an hour at 2am would that mean 1 less hour or would they extend it to make up for the time change?

If it is DLST, 3AM will happen at 2AM. The reason is they have to have the park ready for the crowd coming in at about 7:30AM for dining and BBB.
