Magic Kingdom Entertainment Tests?

I was just curious how everyone felt about Disney's ideas on extended park hours for MK? I personally would love it if they alternated Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks one night and SpectroMagic parade the next. What do you think?

"Magic Kingdom News & Rumors
6 September 2002: Entertainment Changes?

The Magic Kingdom is to test out a few things over the next month in regards to
entertainment scheduling. They understand that guests want night time entertainment, and also they know how difficult night entertainment is when the parks have such low attendance and short operating hours, specifically closing at 6pm. Keeping the park open until 8pm to be dark
enough for fireworks is tricky, but they are going to try one week of low attendance where fireworks will run every night, one week with SpectroMagic running every night, and one week alternating each day. On the back of this there will be lots of guest surveys during this time to see if the new entertainment increases guests ratings and intent to return to the parks. Finally, they are working on an idea where instead of either fireworks or a parade, a huge character meet on Mainstreet USA will take place, with close to 100 different characters interacting with guests with music etc." quoted from Magic Kingdom News and Rumors

I know there's another thread on this, but this particular question hasn't really been adressed on that thread.

I DON'T think that alternating SpectroMagic and Fantasy in the Sky is a good idea. A lot of people (me included) budget only one day in the Magic Kingdom. As it is, If I want to see SpectroMagic and Fantasy in the Sky, I can look up which days they're going to happen and then adjust my schedule to work around one of those dates. If they do the fireworks on one night, and the parade the next, then people that have only one day to visit MK have to miss one or the other.

I understand that they can't justify spending the money to run both each night, but I do think that they should continue to run both on selected nights.

Just my 2 cents . . .
