Magic Kingdom Character Greetings

Does anyone know exactly what characters are at the MK and approximately when are they out? My parent's and I are making a trip in Dec. and I usually have some free time so I want to go to MK and collect as many autographs as I can. Have you ever seen any rare characters out & about?

If you have a Smartphone the Disney Parks app helps out a lot. I used it on my last visit in July and it kept the times and locations for various meet and greets updated, ones that I would have probably missed if I didn't look them up.

If you have an iPhone, the app My Disney Experience really helped our trip last week with wait times, characters, etc.

I have a phone & My Disney Experience but the problem is I get absolutely no service and the WiFi drains my battery. I will try to use it though, thanks for the help.
