With Disney "turbocharging" investing in the parks, the original WDW park needs additional capacity enhancement projects to improve the guest experience.

I'm no fan of cutting the Rivers of America, but Disney has already decided.

Ideal Timeline
2028 - Cars Land
2029 - Villains Land
2030 - 1st Phase of Main Street Improvements (West Bypass)
2032 - 2nd Phase of Main Street Improvements (Caseys, Walt's, etc.)
2035 - New Tomorrowland

I think it's smart to fill in the back of Rivers of America and keep just the front. I've been completely fine with it and been saying for years they should do it. It's a much better use of this section than Tom Sawyer's Island. As long as some water remains. This way it still looks aesthetically pleasing and accurately themed.

They could just make the Liberty Belle stationary, and possibly turn it into a restaurant or walkup. Whatever they put in the expansion has to fit the area though. Like I put a Phantom Mountain (ghost from Paris) and Sleepy Hollow dark ride in my section and kept it as an island (Ghost Island), just an expanded island.
