Magic bands outside resorts

Hi! We are staying at a resort hotel for 1 week but then going for 2 weeks to a villa. We are getting 21 day park tickets. I know we will have magic bands for the 1st week, but can we keep them for the other 2 weeks as well?

Yes you can keep them as @HRHPrincessAriel said. They will continue to work as your tickets. However you will not be able to use them for charging anything.

In addition to being your ticket, your magic bands will also continue to be your fastpasses. You don't need to be a resort guest for that function.

And as a side note, once you get home, if you happen to have Disney Infinity on XBOX or PS3/PS4 the magic band allows you to unlock a special "its a small world" feature in Toy Box mode.

The Bands can also be used on future trips. While the battery powering one of the internal circuits is only expected to last a couple years, that's only used for long-distance readers like automatic linking of ride photos and eventually some interactive features.
All of the touch-to-use functions of the Band (ticket, FP+, etc) will work indefinitely.
