Magic Band Question

I have not been to WDW for a while. I just purchased Magic Bands for DS and myself.

1. How are these programed?
2. Do they come that way?
3. Are they programmed when we get there?
4. Is there some App?

Sorry for what might be a dumb question, I'm an old timer and technology is swiftly passing me by. I remember "E" tickets.

Last time I visited WDW was over 5 years ago. I didn't use the Magic Bands (only used the parks admission card for the tap machines to enter).

Perhaps this link to the Magic Bands may be helpful -- looks like the steps for set-up, etc. are straight-forward.

If you purchased your Magic Bands on Disney World’s website (as shown below), they’ll already be linked to your reservations

If you purchased your Magic Bands from Disney Store, you will need to link them to your My Disney Experience account. There should be a number-letter combo on the back of your bands, that you input here:

Magic Bands are non-transferable, so you need to make sure each band is linked to the right person.
