When we arrive at Animal Kingdom Lodge, I want to sort everything out straight away. We need new Magic Bands and we can't seem to pre-order anymore from the UK so will I be able to buy them from reception and ask them to link everything for me? New to this forum so I hope I have asked this correctly. Thank you so much.

Since they don't include them as part of a stay anymore the front desk doesn't have them, you'll need to wander over to Zawadi Marketplace (directly to the right when you enter Jambo House) to purchase new bands. They are located on the pillar display directly in front of the registers.

The sales staff at the marketplace can walk you through the process.
@networkpro is spot on with his advice. One thing to remember is if you purchase the new Magic Band+, it’s not fully charged. You’ll still be able to use it to enter the parks and your room, and charging purchases, but it may not be able to get your ride photos and other park experiences.

like @Raxel7851 said they are not fully charged, so if you arrive the day before you are in the parks, make sure to charge it as soon as you get to your room.

how long does it take to fully charge them, out of curiosity?
I’m thinking maybe an hour. I never really timed it but after wearing it most of the day, then charging it at night, it seemed comparable to my Apple Watch. It takes way less time than the phone or iPad.
