Mack's Pizza !!!

Some people from PA, NJ, NY, DE, CT probably got very excited when they saw this thread. If you go to the south Jersey shore you probably have a good idea about Mack's Pizza. Mack's has two locations on the Wildwood boardwalk which is where I've been partaking in their delicious pie for almost 30 years. It's a thin crust pizza with just a hint of sauce, and a cheese combo that is incredible. My wife saw on Facebook and announced to me, "Mack's is opening March 24th." Well, that's fine, but we won't get a chance to have ours until early June when we usually go to the shore. Or will we ?
I haven't used any of my vacation time at work for the year so I got an idea. I called off on a Friday and loaded my two dogs into my vehicle and set on my way for the Jersey shore at 10:00 AM. 3 1/2 hours each way. I was on the boardwalk at 1:30pm, and I was on my way out of town by 2:30pm. Made it back by 6:00pm even though I hit Philly rush hour. Oh, and I did bring a half dozen of Bagel Time bagels home with a tub of lox cream cheese and apple-cinnamon-walnut cream cheese.
I never have done this in my life. I really think the whole locked-up, Covid thing for this past year affected my decision. I just decided on a whim to drive 7 hours for pizza and bagels.
Anyone have any similar stories ?

My mom and sister at Mack's a couple years ago. Growing up in the 70's and 80's our family would go to Wildwood for a week every summer, and get the same apartment on Magnolia Ave, one block off the Boardwalk. We loved Mack, even remember getting to eat upstairs once at a table that overlooked the boardwalk. Still have a strong sentimental attachment to Macks.

Very cool! I once did a similar thing, driving back from a long trip to New England and was passing Manhattan, and just decided to drive into the Holland Tunnel so I could hit Mamouns Falafel in the Village. There really is nothing like it.

As for Macks....it will always be Mack and Mancos to me!
