I was wondering what Disney could do with M:S, without tearing it down and this absolutely crazy concept hit me (ooch!): A technology demonstrator for Elon Musk's Hyperloop concept.
Elon Musk envisions trains that would spin around in loops to gain speed before being switched to a straight track. He claims this concept is cheaper and faster than the fastest maglev train.
The centrifuge of M:S could spin departing trains fast enough to gain enough energy to self-propel these trains to a destination, such as HS or AK. After being spun to gain enough momentum, trains riding on the M:S centrifuge could be released to a "dumb" all-concrete track (without expensive electric systems) to a similar centrifuge at its destination.
Take that Hoggswarts Express, for this concept not only has practical value but would also be far more thrilling!
