Talk about short notice but starting this Fri(Jan 20) through Jan 29. Disneyland will be celebrating the Lunar New Year near "it's a small world"

Earlier this month, we celebrated Three Kings Day at Disneyland park, and some of our Disney Parks Blog readers asked whether we would be celebrating the Lunar New Year as well. Today I have great news for you – we will be celebrating this tradition from January 20-29 with special decor, cultural performances and character meet-and-greet opportunities in front of “it’s a small world” at Disneyland park!
The Happy Lunar New Year Celebration! will pay tribute to the traditions and family celebrations observed within the Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures, observing the time when the sun and moon begin their journeys for another year.
In addition to enjoying performances by Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese musicians and dancers, Disneyland park guests will be able to visit with Mulan, Mushu and other Disney characters.
Come celebrate the Lunar New Year at Disneyland park, January 20-29!

It's great to see DLR do these events I guess that means no Family Fun Weekends better than nothing. Fingers crossed we get the Mardi Gras one again and Tiana gets the whole Showboat Jubilee last years mini one was still great but a whole show and boat would be even better:p

Some more details about the Lunar New Year Celebration starting tomorrow-
Here's a few highlights I thought would be worth mentioning.

http://disneylandnews.com/2012/01/19/happy-lunar-new-year-celebration-at-disneyland-park-fact-sheet/
-Guests will enjoy the Happy Lunar New Year Celebration! from 10 am to 5 pm Jan, 20-29 at Small World Mall with special character appearances and family entertainment. Exhilarating live performances will be held Jan. 20-23, Jan. 25 and Jan. 27-29 (weather permitting)

-Throughout the day, cultural groups perform in colorful attire along Small World Mall. These may include a Chinese Dragon dance troupe, lion dancers, ribbon wand dancers, Korean drummers, Vietnamese musicians and dancers, and martial artists.

-In Mulan’s Chinese New Year Procession, seen at selected times throughout the day, Mulan and Mushu proceed in colorful costumes to the photo location area. There, guests will greet Mulan and Mushu, along with Chip ‘n’ Dale dressed in festive, Asian-inspired attire.

Looks like Mardi Gras decorations are also going up, so we'll most likely get the Mardi Gras Celebration and fingers crossed for Tiana's Mardi Gras Celebration(the mini version of Tiana's Showboat Jubilee).

But for now I'm looking forward to Mulan’s Chinese New Year Procession, which I swear was at DCA at one point in time.

It's the year of the Dragon! Or maybe we should make it the year of the Disney Dragon! :)

It's the Year of the Disney Dragon only at Disneyland.

Walt Disney World is doing... absolutely nothing to commemorate this cultural celebration.

But a great job by TDA to roll out this fun and unique little offering for just one week. :sohappy:
