Luigis ride, disneyland hotel and Union station.

Hi, I have a trip planned from 20th to 25th of November, my 1st since 2004. I am looking forward to seeing cars land! How much does the construction for the Luigis ride detract from the beauty of cars land (if at all?). Does anyone think theres any chance of an early opening, say on 20/11?? That would be pretty cool!

Has anyone have experience staying off site and at the disneyland hotel and think Disneyland hotel is worth the extra money? I have always wanted to stay there.

Finally, I'm hoping someone could advise me how long it would take to get to union station (train station) from Disneyland? My train leaves at 10pm. Google maps says it is a 40 minute trip but I'm not sure about traffic patterns and whether it being the day before thanksgiving day will effect travel time.

I'm not at all familiar with L.A. traffic patterns either, however I can't possibly imagine that this will be an easy trip for you if you go during peak travel time. I was told to give myself 2-3 hours to get to LAX during a regular Tuesday morning commute (despite Google Maps saying 1 hour during rush hour).

I'll let the other more experienced Disney'ers weigh in on your other two questions. I am also staying at Disneyland Hotel in September and I have heard it's well worth the added expense.

I'm guessing the train you're referring to is try the Metrolink. There will be no traffic because there will be no other trains, and it really is a 40-45 minute ride. Take an uber from Disneyland to the ARTIC station (it's about 12 minutes away) and purchase a Metrolink ticket to Union Station.

Thank you! I hadn't even thought about taking a train to get to Union station, I was imagining getting a taxi etc. I'll look into this, it could be a much better option.

To be honest, a "normal" guest would probably not even notice there was construction even going on. I don't know that it'll open early, but you never know. It's been said that it will open sometime at the end of the year.

I haven't personally stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, but it's really not necessary to pay double the price for hotel for a few reasons. First, it's actually a farther walk from the parks than some of the cheaper hotels on Harbor Boulevard and the price is so outrageous that I don't see it as worth it. But, if you have extra money to spare, I'd say go for it if you've always wanted to stay there.
