Luggage move service?

Dear my fellow WDWMagic.com members,

As summer nears, my father has begun looking into our family vacation. Seeing that my family and I absolutely love going to WDW, it's an obvious choice, but however, my father was wondering if WDW provided a luggage move service were we to, say, stay at AKL for two nights and then the Polynesian for the next four. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Mouseketeer Boy

I've seen it discussed before. The answer is yes. Call Bell Services and they'll take care of getting your luggage from one resort to another.

I would also venture to say that a larger than normal tip would be in order here, also.

One of the most fun things for me is to stay at multiple resorts during a vacation. Even if just for a week, I'll normally stay at least at two. Before I bought DVC, I'd usually break it into half stay at a moderate resort, then the other half at a deluxe.

Since most times I don't have a car, I've taken advantage of Disney's free service to move bags for me on many occasions. I don't think tipping extra makes a difference as to how fast you get your bags. I have a feeling it's a central drop off and reroute. I doubt they take bags from one resort to another directly, but I could be wrong. I tip both leaving and arriving anyway.

One difference between moving your bags from one resort to another and Magical Express - they will not put your bags in the new room unless you are there. When you arrive in the afternoon, call the Bell office and see if your bags are there. They'll then bring them to the room. I'm pretty sure they do that to ensure they have the opportunity for a tip.

Since I normally go off to the parks, etc. between the moves, I don't know what time the bags will arrive, but I suspect around 3PM.

Hope this helps!

Rick
